The Aquarium will be closed all day on Wednesday 27 April, and reopen from Thursday 28 April.
Spoon with shallow, round bowl made of tortoiseshell. The handle is made of bone, with alternating bands of metal and red coral. The metal bands are painted in black with a chevron design and the coral sections are decorated with incised 'x' shapes. The bone tip has been stained purple. The bowl is attached to the handle with three nails.
These objects are only a part of our collections, of which there are more than 350,000 objects. This information comes from our collections database.
