Dark blue textile sample. Long strip of textile decorated with a repeating batik motif featuring palm trees and the word 'YORUBA' in white and brown. It is hemmed along the top edge and sides, but the bottom hem has been unpicked. It is not made of one continous strip of fabric, but three that have been stitched together.

It is likely that the strip forms one of the borders of nn19741, the 'Hornimandun textile', as the top and bottom borders were removed for separate display at some point in the object's history.
sample (textileworking: dyeing & printing); textile (function unknown)
