Painted clay figure of grass-cutter (Dhumbi) wearing a pink turban and dhoti, with a bare torso and carrying a large bundle of grass on his head. Documentation with object states that the grass-cutter is "carrying a bundle of freshly-cut grass. He cuts this every morning for the horses belonging to the officer and his family."

Collection Information

These objects are only a part of our collections, of which there are more than 350,000 objects. This information comes from our collections database. Some of this is incomplete and there may be errors. This part of the website is also still under construction, so there may be some fields repeated or incorrectly formatted information.
