Envelopes and other handwritten notes describing the scenes and locations depicted in the glass plate negatives taken in Africa by Edward Wayland in the 1920s. The glass plates were found in envelopes and wrapped in newsprint (dated 1960) with annotations in pencil and pen. Annotations include the issues of JRAI (Journal of the Royal Anthropological Institute) the images featured in. The envelopes and newsprint have been separated into folders and annotated in pencil with the reference number for the corresponding plates they originally held.
