One album of photographs collected by Christopher Bass Mears II in Peking, China between circa 1907-1908. There are 87 photographs in total (44 inserted into the album and 43 loose photographs stored in a folder alongside the album). The photographs depict monuments in and around Peking including Pailou near Ming tombs, Stone God Temple Tunnel (Nankou Pass), the Great Wall near Nankou Pass, The Great Bell Temple, 'Wi Ta Ssu' Five Pagoda Temple, 'Pi Yuu Ssu' Azure Cloud Temple, Tartar Wall, Peking Summer Palace, and the arrival of the Dali Llama from Tibet in 1908.
