The other half of the mug bears the text: "The Horniman Museum and Garden; On completion in 1901 the building, designed by C. Harrison Townsend in the Art Nouveau style, was presented by Frederick Horniman MP with its contents and the adjoining Gardens to the people of London as a free museum for their recreation, instruction and enjoyment."
