An Inquisition Torture Chair

Short newspaper advertisement presenting Mr. Horniman’s Museum of Surrey Mount, a museum dedicated not only to its highly educated neighbours, but equally to a less fortunate, less educated public. The new attraction advertised here is the “Torture Chair” dating from the Inquisition times in Spain, and purchased by Mr. Horniman from Mr. Henry Willett at a price of £200.
