The back of the photograph contains a message posted on 16 December 1919 to Miss Billie Wilson, 5 Ashwau Villas, Tiverton Road, Hownslow, Middlesex . The message reads 'Dear Billie, You will see by these views I'm sending that Forest Hill is very pretty, the weather isn't any too good otherwise I might be seeing the place better although I'm out all day, hope you are well. I haven't been here really long enough dear to let you know I am feeling the benefit of the Change, although yesteray the air seem to make me tired. Much love, Vic.'
