An Account of the Horniman Free Museum and Recreational Grounds, 1901 (three copies)

Three copies of a 34 page guidebook for the Horniman Museum titled 'An Account of The Horniman Free Museum and Recreational Grounds Forest Hill' (London, 1901) written by Charles Townsend. The volume contains an account of the founding of the museum, photographs of the Townsend building in 1901 and the museum's grounds, a map of the surrounding grounds and gardens, plans of the museum's south and north galleries, photographs of exhibits, sketches of selected objects, and an account of the building of the 1901 museum building.
Volume A208/1 has been rebound with new covers.
Volume A208/3 has orignal binding and was inscribed by Charles Harrison Townsend
Volume A208/4 has the original bindings with a reproduction of the museum's dedicatory plaque pasted onto the inside of the cover.
