Appears in Hitchcock and Norris as Fig 58. Caption reads ‘A Balinese village glimpsed through a grove of bamboo. The eaves of the thatched roof throw the rain-water clear of the mud brick walls. The raised stone floors provide protection from flooding. Garden plots are protected from animals with bamboo fences.’ NB The roofs are made of slats.
