Caption reads ‘ In the Mendet, or offering dance, the offering is held in the right hand while the body sways slightly to the right. The dancer wears a kain perada (cloth decorated with gold leaf) and her piled hair is adorned with numerous gilded flower pins.’ [NB Professor Dibia tells me that ‘pendet’ is a noun, ‘mendet’ the verb, so that ‘mendet’ should read ‘pendet’ here.
