English translation of a letter from Antonio Fanna of the Istituto Italiano Antonio Vivaldi dated 23 June 1948, in reponse to an enquiry dated 16 June 1948 regarding Vivaldi's use of the word 'clarinetto' in his scores, the compass of the parts for clarinetto, sonatas Vivaldi published personally, and the lack of writings by Vivaldi about his life.
