Slide of Sourje in the pouring rain

Photograph taken inside an enclosure surrounded by village houses and a shrine building. The photograph shows animal figures, made of mud, butter, wood and tissue being carried and burned at the altar. Papers with prayers and wind horses (symbol of well-being or good fortune) which carry the Buddha's jewels are also thrown to the ground. The smoke seen in the photograph is from burning juniper.
