The Aquarium will be closed all day on Wednesday 27 April, and reopen from Thursday 28 April.
A knife and skewer attached to one another with a length of twisted fabric. The knife has a metal lanceolate blade and is bound at the base with vegetable fibre and red textile to form a handle. This is fastened with gum and decorated with yellow orchid fibre. Two pieces of a woven red textile are bound into this, which leads to the base of a long narrow wooden skewer, this too is fastened at the base with a small amount of plant fibre.
These objects are only a part of our collections, of which there are more than 350,000 objects. This information comes from our collections database.
