sample (textileworking: dyeing & printing); textile

Rectangular sample of cream cotton textile with stitching to secure the fringing at both shorter ends. The textile is decorated with a lattice pattern created by dotted lines. The diamonds are alternately decorated with smaller diamond outlines or an ovoid motif. The pattern consists of white on a black ground, and has been created by using a square lino printing block designed by pupils at St Mark's College, Mapanza.
