Bronze figure, okimono, of Hotei carrying aloft a fan in his right hand being pulled inside his own sack by a child, another child on a lid which fits in a small aperture at the top. This child is holding a drum(?) and may have also held a stick (now missing). Decorative gilt inlay motifs on exterior including a representation of pots on a three-legged stand symbolising fire, a lucky symbol and other lucky symbols. On a wooden stand. The heads of the figures and the inside of the pot are in a metal containing copper, inlaid, whereas the rest of the outer surface. Export ware.
