Basset horn, in five parts. Additional mouthpiece and barrel. Body probably made of cocus wood. Silver plated keys. White metal ferrules. The mouthpiece made of hardwood is turned with grooves for use with blattschnur. Tenon lapped with red threadThe upper joint with two brille keys, stamped HECKEL/BIEBRICH/GRENADIER/GUARDS. The middle joint with ivory thumbrest with sling ring above, stamped HECKEL/BIEBRICH/GRENADIER/GUARDS. The lower joint stamped GRENADIER/GUARDS on reverse of joint. The ferrule on the socket of this joint does not match other ferrules. The bell, with white metal rim stamped HECKEL/BIEBRICH/GRENADIER/GUARDS.
