Wooden calendar, tika. Carved from a flat section of wood into a rectangular panel with a decorative curved pediment above. The rectangular panel is divided by incisions into squares in thirty vertical cloumns and seven horizontal rows symbolising the 210 days of the Balinese wuku calendar. Pieces of bone set into some of the squares form five diagonal rows across the calendar. Other auspicious or inauspicious days are indicated with crosses, circles, holes, diagonal lines or combinations of these.
