The Aquarium will be closed all day on Wednesday 27 April, and reopen from Thursday 28 April.
Basket, oval at mouth, with one rod along base. The lower half is twill-woven and upper half is plain basket-weave. There are three loops, one at each side of the back near the top rim and one towards the base, through which a length of black twine is threaded. This would be used to secure the basket at the waist. The basket is darker on one side than the other.
These objects are only a part of our collections, of which there are more than 350,000 objects. This information comes from our collections database.
