The Aquarium will be closed all day on Wednesday 27 April, and reopen from Thursday 28 April.
A rectangular woven plant fibre basket and lid from the Amazon region of South America, with an integral symmetrical animal decorative pattern. The lid and the basket are attached with string and cannot be separated. The edges of the basket and lid are supported with concealed cane. Clusters of feathers that are a variety of colours decorate the corners and base of the lid and basket.
These objects are only a part of our collections, of which there are more than 350,000 objects. This information comes from our collections database. Some of this is incomplete and there may be errors. This part of the website is also still under construction, so there may be some fields repeated or incorrectly formatted information.
