sample (textileworking: barkcloth making); barkcloth

Long rectangular cream barkcloth with painted decoration in light and dark brown. The textile is seemingly from a larger piece, as some of the patterns are cut. A narrower strip has been sewn onto the main piece at the shorter plain end. The design is separated by stripes into 3 smaller areas. 1 contains what appears to be a small triangle. Another one contains parts of a floral motif, as well as 2 circular motifs, and another small triangular shape. The motifs consist of darker outlines coloured in with the lighter hue.
