Part of lock. The lock consists of two separate blocks of wood. The upright block has eight retractable wooden pegs set in its upper half. The crosswise block has eight holes drilled in its upper surface. When the two blocks are placed at right angles, the pegs fall into the holes and so lock the blocks together. The key consists of a length of wood set at one end with eight iron pegs. When these iron pegs are pushed into the holes they force out the wooden pegs, thus opening the lock.
