Caftan (kewa). Sulaymani Region Iraqi Kurdistan. Red silk quilted cloth with rows of silver thread squares. Edged in blue, with a white and brown braid round the neck. Straight square sleeves. Lined in white cotton. Part of a woman's outfit but could have been worn also by a man. Cloth woven in India. Length 59 in.Width incl. sleeves 63 in.. See neg. no. 4610, 4611.
