Flute d'accord, boxwood, without mounts. Twin tubes in a single piece of wood, one piece. Twin finger and thumb-holes, plus one finger hole in left hand tube. Sounding lengths (lip to foot): tube one is 27.1 cm; tube two is 30.5 cm. There is a groove between the foot openings and a flaw below the upper window. Stamped: Jouve Paris (Star mark).

This instrument was purchased by Adam Carse at the sale of the Nettlefold collection at Puttick & Simpson on 25th April 1946 (Lot 35). The flûte d'accord is a double duct flute that is classified according to the system of Hornbostel and Sachs as a 'set of open flutes with internal duct, with fingerholes'.
