Spinning wheel (a Saxony wheel) with a medium-sized wheel and tension screw. On the right side of the sloping bed is the wheel. On the opposite side is the bobbin and flyer. The maidens, or spindle supports, provide for two bobbins. Only one is present. There are a number of parts missing, notably the treadle and treadle bars. On the bench beside the tension screw is carved the words: 'Thomas ['s' is reversed] Jamieson, Brechin'. [Textile]
